Base coat treated gates are priced the same as pressure treated.
The above gate is in brown pressure treated Scandinavian redwood and fitted with a gate spring.
Here the gate is made from Douglas Fir, this timber is no longer available however Larch has many of the same properties with fewer knots than Scandinavian Redwood and Larch is still a softwood it is dense and especially hard and durable with a lack of movement.
Unlike other softwoods it does not require treatment but if you are thinking of painting your gate this is the best option to go for as you will achieve the best finish.
This gate shown is also fitted with a Cylinder gate lock for extra security.
The Glemham gate below is made from pressure treated Scandinavian redwood, it was a tight space which wouldn't take the opening of a larger gates so a small matching side panel was used to fill in between the gate and the Summer house. The insert photo shows the reverse of the gate and panel.
Above shows Glemham pedestrian gates with co-ordinating side panels, ideal for entrances where you don't want the gate to span the whole gap. Left is untreated where as the gate and panel on the right is finished in Sadolins Classic Burma Teak.

Two neighboring single untreated gates are set into a frame and displayed as a pair.
