This is a considerably durable softwood timber and performs much better than many other softwood pots such as Scandinavian Scots Pine. Douglas Fir is also an ideal timber to apply paint or wood stains to before installation.
We recommend using a post saver with Douglas Fir posts to protect them at ground level.
